Cool and the Cucumbers, a daytime choir based at Waitrose HQ in Bracknell, soared into second place at this year's PartnerSing - the national choral competition of the John Lewis Music Society. Judges awarded the choir a Distinction and commented on their "committed" and "spine-tingling" performance. The choir competed alongside much larger groups from across the UK, singing set pieces by ABBA as well as their own choice of a Swedish folk song. After winning the Award for Best Newcomer in 2016, Cool and the Cucumbers are going from strength to strength. They'll be going for gold in 2020!
Caroline was asked to step in at the last minute to take a rehearsal for ENO's Community Choir. Having seen the group in action on several occasions, it was a great chance to work with them on their choral skills and learn a range of new repertoire for the term including extracts from Purcell's Fairy Queen and the musical Chess. ENO Community Choir rehearses weekly in West Hampstead in Autumn and Spring, and is open to all regardless of singing experience.Find out more here.
